2022 - Week 01

Week 1 is not yet done, but I figure I'll commit only to writing at least once a week. This has been very much a winding up of the year. Paying bills, setting irons into the fire to pay off later, working on budgeting, setting plans on paper. All that fun stuff.
2022 - Week 01

Well, here we are.  It's 2022, and just a day ago was the 5 year anniversary of my moving to a rural environment near a great lake and embracing locational mobility.

I hadn't intended to have this ghost blog any longer, but they have this evil business practice that goes something like this.  When I signed up, the option was an annual plan.  $343.  Okay, I wanted to check it out.

Come a year later, I was charged for another year.  Oops, I hadn't been using it for very long.  I go to cancel so that next year I won't have this problem.  If you cancel they immediately cancel your account.  This is very likely intentional.  It forces a person to say, well, I've got a full year ahead of me, I'll just remember to cancel next year before it shuts down again.

The pattern repeats, taking advantage of so many psychological principles it's not funny, nor kind.  Executive disfunction, time's effect on memory, sunk costs.  It's frustrating because 'technically' it's my fault.  I should just cancel, or complain directly to them, or set a reminder.

I am functionally chaotic in how I operate in the universe.

So while I consider the practice of making the cancellation of a service as difficult as possible to be an evil and exploitive business practice, here I am with another year because it's January of 2022 and I'm feeling like maybe this is the year I'll make more use of this blog.  Who knows?

Week 1 is not yet done, but I figure I'll commit only to writing at least once a week.  This has been very much a winding up of the year.  Paying bills, setting irons into the fire to pay off later, working on budgeting, setting plans on paper.  All that fun stuff.

Got through a few of my TODO list this week, despite it being a shorter week, despite my feeling a bit low.  Need to put in a shopping list for tomorrow grocery store.  Will do that now, have a good week 2, hope your first week of 2022 was at most a ho-hum one, and at best, much better.
